Matthew Patrick has announced his retirement

The Game Theorists, the popular YouTube channel run by Matthew Patrick, also known as MatPat. announced his retirement. It’s not a prank or clickbait for views he officially announced his retirement in his latest video on YouTube. On March 9 he will host his last theory episode. after that, he will hand off his channel to someone else.

But Why did Matthew Patrick retire tho?

why did he suddenly want to retire what are the reasons? So, in short, he thinks he is too old to continue his channel and wants to rest and do other things he wants to spend time with his friends and family and play games with them without thinking about any theory from now on his team will handle the channel and he will not come in the videos but he will still appear in some videos as a guest or some special videos. In the retirement announcement video, Matthew Patrick said, “As much as I love you and I love overthinking things, and I love theorizing, I don’t love late nights. I miss the days when I could just sit down on the couch with her (Stephanie) and play video games and it’s not for content.”

MatPat explained in his farewell video that he wanted to spend more time with his family, having been working first for over a decade.

“We knew that honestly, we didn’t want to do this forever,” MatPat said. “As much as I love you and I love overthinking things, and I love theorizing, I don’t love late nights.”
